Prayers to know God's purpose over your life

Prayers to know God's purpose over your life

 by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. It's good to have you here and I love the fact that you keep coming back every week. May God bless you and enlarge your coast. So today, I will be sharing some prayer points about coming into purpose with you. If you've followed me for a while now, you'd know that I'm passionate for every child of God to come into God's purpose for their life. With the consistent hustle and bustle of this world, finding purpose may be the last thing on our mind. I have also conversed with people that have become so uninterested in finding purpose because of the way it has been presented to them in the time past. I am a big advocate of seeking God and being submitted to Him, He will definitely direct your path into purpose.

Here are 6 prayer points to help you know God's will for your life

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

First things first, I want you to thank God for everything even though you're not where you want to be or you thought you would be. Thank Him because it is God's will for you as a Christian. Don't look for a reason to thank Him, let thanksgiving flow effortlessly from your heart.

Ephesians 2:10(NIV)  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Give thanks to God for creating you with a specific purpose to achieve here. Thank Him because He didn't create you without a purpose, that He intentionally created you the way you are to achieve His own purpose on earth. Thank Him because you're not here randomly, He created you for His reason. Give Him thanks. Your height, weight, race, colour, accent...everything about you is specific to His purpose over your life. Thank Him for you are His handiwork for His purpose.

Romans 11.29(NIV) for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.

  1. Pray that God reveals to you all your hidden gifts and talents that will facilitate your purpose
  2. Pray that every gift that He has given to you that you have taken for granted will be stirred up in you this minute. Just like particles settle in the bottom of a cup of liquid requires a stir to be activated, ask that God should activate all your dormant gifts and show you a way to utilize them properly.

Romans 8:28 (NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

Father, if there are any situations in my life obstructing me from walking in the line of your will for my life, open my eyes to see how it is all tying to your calling over my life.

If there are any issues that are distracting you from walking in purpose maybe lack of money, illness or anything else, tell God to show you how He is using it to draw you closer to His will. Ask Him to show you how He loves to use evil and turn it for good. Ask Him to show you how this phase in your life is for His glory.

Proverbs 19:21(NIV) Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails

If there is any purpose that I am pursuing that isn't yours, reveal it to me so I can be aligned with your calling over my life. Don't let me be carried away by the activities that you haven't called me to do. God, please re-align me with your calling over my life.

I really hope you prayed these prayers with fervency. Please bookmark it and revisit it frequently. Share it with your friends, family members and loved ones. Fulfilling purpose is our most important assignment here as children of God. We're Christ ambassadors and we're equipped to represent our father, please be purpose conscious. Don't harbour any fear in your heart about not fulfilling purpose, God is gracious to you! No matter your age, you can still fulfil purpose! All things are made available to you! God bless you and please, flourish!

With love,

  2. I have been in a season of finding purpose, the most difficult season in my life. Almost depressive feeling empty, purposeless and unfulfilled, I'll definitely ass these prayers to the few things I'm already doing.
Truly believing I'll come back with a clearer perspective of the direction God wants me to take

What does it mean to be complete in Christ?

What does it mean to be complete in Christ? When you look at yourself, what do you see? Do you see someone who is imperfect and lacking in many areas? Do you sometimes find yourself thinking these thoughts? God is angry with me. I’m too dirty and damaged for Him to accept me. Why would God want to be with me when I’m a hot mess. Let me give you a secret, it doesn't matter how you feel or what you think. All that matters is what God has said in His word. His word says you are Complete in Christ! You are whole! Nothing missing, nothing lost, nothing broken! This is not by your deeds or something you are on your own. This is because you're in Christ!  Are you in Christ? Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV) For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [a]bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all [b]principality and power. Colossians 2:9-10 (TPT) For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. 10 And our own completeness is now found in him . We are co

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast  By Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun Hello, welcome to my blog. If you clicked on this link it’s either you’re fasting already or are planning to fast. The good thing is you’re planning to have an effective fast by seeking all the information you can get on this. I won’t waste much of your time and I’ll get into it. Don’ts of fasting -  Have a Transactional mindset : A long time ago I thought fasting was about doing something so God will bless you. This led to a string of disappointment because I never got what I wanted from him. After all, I deprived myself for God but He didn’t do his part. We must first understand that fasting is not to move God, it’s to help us align with the move he’s made. The bible says in Ephesians 1.3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. God is always on our side, we need not deal with him on a transaction basis. We fast to tra
