Does God love me personally?

Does God love me personally?

by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun

Do you ever wonder if God loves you personally? Or you’re sharing His love with the rest of the world? After all, John 3.16 says For God so loved the world, the world is 7 billion people. How can He possibly love you?

This is why it's easy for us to think of His love as generally divided amongst all humans, we never get to see it in the personal details of our life. But I want to remind you of the truth that his love for you is really personalized.

Answer me this, do you know that if you were the only human on earth, He would still have sacrificed His life for you?

Romans 5:8 (NKJV) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Sometimes we think God’s love for us is dependent on our love for him. Like if we ever stopped loving Him, He will decide to stop loving us. This is untrue because the bible tells us in 1 John 4.9 (NKJV) We love Him because He first loved us.

God’s everlasting love for you.

Romans 8:31-39 (NKJV)What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:“For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing is so powerful enough to separate you from the love of God, sin is not even mentioned in this scripture above. Sin is not God's kryptonite i.e His weakness. The sight of sin doesn't put God on His Heels. His love can withstand your greatest sin and can help you overcome it too.

His love for you is not defined by circumstances. We are more than conquerors because he loves us, not because of anything that we've ever done or will do. So whether we're in lack, poor health, difficult situations, it doesn't mean His love is absent from us. He is right there with you throughout all the pain and strengthening you.

Also, your feelings don't change the fact that you're loved by God. Don't let your experiences define God's love for you but let God's word define it for you. I know sometimes we say "you don't know what I've been through" to help qualify the limitless of God's love for you. Sometimes we find ourselves arguing with God, telling Him that His love does not have the capacity to sustain us.

In the journey of God's love for us, nothing can change or move or shake it.

The only message God has for us is of His endless love. No one goes to hell because God didn't love them. People go to hell because they reject God and His gift of salvation. Despite all things, He loves you and the whole world, and it's his desire that everyone comes to the light of the gospel.

Be bold like John in personalizing this love of God as seen in John 13:23 (NKJV) Now there was [a]leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

The scripture is not saying Jesus loved John the most out of everyone but it's John personalizing that love for him.

Be bold to say "I am the most loved of God".

Take ownership of Jesus love for yourself today,

What does it mean to be complete in Christ?

What does it mean to be complete in Christ? When you look at yourself, what do you see? Do you see someone who is imperfect and lacking in many areas? Do you sometimes find yourself thinking these thoughts? God is angry with me. I’m too dirty and damaged for Him to accept me. Why would God want to be with me when I’m a hot mess. Let me give you a secret, it doesn't matter how you feel or what you think. All that matters is what God has said in His word. His word says you are Complete in Christ! You are whole! Nothing missing, nothing lost, nothing broken! This is not by your deeds or something you are on your own. This is because you're in Christ!  Are you in Christ? Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV) For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [a]bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all [b]principality and power. Colossians 2:9-10 (TPT) For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. 10 And our own completeness is now found in him . We are co

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast  By Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun Hello, welcome to my blog. If you clicked on this link it’s either you’re fasting already or are planning to fast. The good thing is you’re planning to have an effective fast by seeking all the information you can get on this. I won’t waste much of your time and I’ll get into it. Don’ts of fasting -  Have a Transactional mindset : A long time ago I thought fasting was about doing something so God will bless you. This led to a string of disappointment because I never got what I wanted from him. After all, I deprived myself for God but He didn’t do his part. We must first understand that fasting is not to move God, it’s to help us align with the move he’s made. The bible says in Ephesians 1.3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. God is always on our side, we need not deal with him on a transaction basis. We fast to tra
