Prayers for 2020

Prayers for 2020 Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. It is good to have you here. Last week, I posted a few questions to help us reflect on the end of the year. If you haven't had a chance to do that, please click here . Personal reviews are important to help launch us into the next level of our lives. 2019 was such an interesting year for me. If there is something to describe it, it will be called "uncharted territories" because I moved to a new country, started working in a different industry and got married to the love of my life. It was absolutely filled with a lot of ups and down but I am eternally grateful to God for His mercies and grace. I don't know how your 2019 went but i'm glad that you're alive to read this today. I believe in the power of prayers and creating your reality in the place of prayers. This is the last post for the year 2019 and we can scream that we made it!!!  Prayers as we end 2019 and enter 2020 Holy Spirit ...

End of the year reflection questions

End of the year reflection questions Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. Thank you so much for clicking this link, I pray that you continue to enjoy the love of God in this season and forever. Amen. 2020 is around the corner, can you believe it? It's a few days to the end of the year and I really love this time of the year. It’s time to stop, breathe and look back at the year. For me, I try not to beat myself up about goals I didn’t quite reach. It's no use crying over split milk.  Did you make a list of things to achieve at the beginning of this year? Find your list and let’s see how much you achieved. If you didn't achieve everything as planned, don't be too hard on yourself. Be kind to you, you deserve it. Celebrate the ones you achieved no matter how big or small it is. In a few days, people will be breaking their piggy bank and revealing how much they were able to save, perhaps too much happened this year that make you financially handicap. It...

WHAT MAKES GOD SMILE?

WHAT MAKES GOD SMILE?  By Oluwatoyosi Adegunle  Edited by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun Your imagination is a blessing from God to picture beautiful things. Have you ever imagined God smiling? I have, and it is absolutely beautiful! Try it out,  close your eyes, think about it and picture it, It's beautiful, right? God smiles because he's pleased with us. He is just so mindful of us. Check out Psalms 8: 4- 8 (NIV): 4What is mankind that you are mindful of them,     human beings that you care for them?[c] 5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e]     and crowned them[f] with glory and honor. 6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;     you put everything under their[g] feet: 7 all flocks and herds,     and the animals of the wild, 8 the birds in the sky,     and the fish in the sea,     all that swim the paths of the seas. When you stop to think of eve...

How to praise through difficult times

How to praise through difficult times By Oluwakemi Eunice Alofe  One of my favourite songs is Marvin Sapp's “Praising Him in advance”. In it he made a statement we can all relate with. He said, “I’ve had my share of ups and downs” who hasn’t? When aren’t we going through something big or small? The world appears like it's designed to frustrate our efforts. But from this song, I’ve learned two important lessons and they are: Praise will confuse the enemy  People around may laugh and wonder why you are praising through a situation because what they know is the problem and pain you’re going through. But what determines your response is what you know. What do you know? Marvin sang that he knew that God would take the problems and pain away and that was why he could praise. Praise is the lesson I’m emphasising because it’s a virtue I’m still learning myself. Praise not because you’re not going through problems, praise not because you’re not in pain. Praise not beca...

What is the true goal of satan?

What is the true goal of satan? by Pastor Adebowale Ibukun Tosin Satan isn't fighting many things as we think. His main fight is against the word of God! Now, I haven't said he doesn't deal in oppression and afflictions. Of course, he does!  Acts 10:38 (NIV) how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. The verse above shows that he is found in sicknesses and diseases. Why does he do this also? To cut short people's lives so they don't encounter the gospel! A believer who is always sick also cannot be as effective in the ministry. All the trials and afflictions in the world are designed to weaken convictions and effectiveness! However, we miss it when we feel the devil is out there to make sure people are poor alone. Yes, he can be found in lack and scarcity but he's not totally against people becoming...

Sex and celibacy guide for today’s Christian

Sex and celibacy guide for today’s Christian   by Selema Enang Celibacy wasn’t for him; it was for you. Celibacy wasn’t for her; it was for you. There are so many relationships and partners you’ve had that shouldn’t have crossed hello and hi. But sex isn’t letting you be great. I understand. But come out of hiding, celibacy is not by your might. It is not by your power. Rest in this. It is not by “ok Jesus I’ve been celibate for 1year, I got this.” Lol, the devil will start beating drum dear, that’s pride setting in. You’re about to break that one year vibe. The Bible didn’t stutter when it said FLEE! 2 Timothy 2:22 (NKJV) Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. It didn’t say check it you can manage! It didn’t say stay and test yourself!   It said FLEE! To flee means to pick your shoes, put them on your head and run for your life. To expand, ev...

Why is it so hard to be a Christian?

Why is it so hard to be a Christian? b y Marcelle Umar I never really understood what it meant when people said when you “find Jesus, you find freedom”. Being a Christian means being called to a higher standard, you have to put in extra effort to live right. Deny yourself of the “fun” stuff. Right? That didn’t sound like freedom to me. Now I’ve grown so much more in the word of God, my relationship with Jesus is stronger than it has ever been and I’ve never felt such freedom in my life. What I didn’t understand before, I now understand through all I’m experiencing. Nobody had to explain it to me. An excerpt from a book helped me put the feeling into words; “ Grace is freeing, it puts the burden to perform on God, rather than on the believer. Our Job is to believe while God does the work ”. There’s so much I want to say but I don’t have all my thoughts gathered yet. Yes, as Christians we are called to a higher standard and it might sound like a lot of wo...
