Rising Above Fear and the COVID19 disease

Rising Above Fear & Disease  by - Dr. Ogor Ben-Iweagwu " The prayer of faith is the prayer based on what Christ has done. " - Bishop Wale Ajayi I will add to the quote above, not based on what Corona has done or what we are scared it will do.  We are  in Christ, first, before we are in a location, or under the plague of COVID 19. It means that Christ is our location, first, before Abuja or New York or Sydney or Toronto. It means that, because we were purchased with the blood of Jesus, it is actually his blood that literally flows in our veins. Please, take the Bible and the word of God LITERALLY in this season. Don’t try to reason it out, don’t try to make logical sense of it. The word of God is not something that is to be brought to a conversation or some logical conclusion; the word of God is infallible . We are believers , and we are called to be strong AND courageous , not to cower in fear. Colossians 1...

Fun Q and A with a Christ-centered couple

Q and A with a Christ-centered couple Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. I hope we're all doing well with everything going on globally. Stay encouraged, you're hid in Christ in God. Listen to the authorities and stay safe. The application of faith and wisdom is not mutually exclusive. This week, I'm doing something different on this platform. It's sad that I see many unmarried people discouraged about the marriage institution based on the negative stories we hear daily. Like someone once said, "Marriages are like flights. Thousands arrive safely daily but we only hear about the ones that crash." Just because you're not surrounded by positive marriages doesn't mean it's unrealistic. There are people flourishing in their marriage and you too can be one of them. I reached out to a couple of my married friends whom I admire deeply and asked them some marriage-related questions. This week is all about Morin and Bolaji. I hope their st...

Self-confidence versus Godfidence

Self-confidence versus Godfidence  By   Oluwatoyosi Adegunle  Edited by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun   At a time during my undergraduate days, I believed that if a student studies well, and does everything right, success is sure. I never pitied anyone who had a carryover, never gave them possible or obvious excuses that could have caused failure, because I concluded it was due to unseriousness or lack of preparation, which might be true and can cause failure too. I believed in my work so much that I didn't see anything that could stop me from making all A's in my courses, which is also a good attitude as well. You need to believe in and hype yourself, but never ever take away the presence and contribution of God's power, grace, and enablement from anything you do.  Lo and behold, I did everything right, read so well and hard, boom! I had a carryover. "What?!?! How is that even possible" I thought. I was so devastated, cried so hard and prayed to Go...

Dealing with sexual desire

Dealing with sexual desire By Pastor Brume Omoefe  Whether you are a man or woman, dealing with sexual desire is something that you will face at many points in your unmarried life (and then again in different ways through your married life as well). Learning to deal with these desires in a healthy way is a discipline that will last you deep into your married life as well. Sexuality and sexual desire are a God-given, God-created gift- but how do take the next steps in keeping those gifts from becoming a point of struggle? What science says... A study involving 2,035 married participants in an online assessment of marriage called RELATE."Showed the following: People who waited until marriage: Sexual quality - 15% higher than people who had premarital sex Relationship stabilit y -  22% higher Satisfaction with their relationships - 20% higher Hebrews 13:4 “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for...

Love covers a multitude of sin

Love covers a multitude of sin By  Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun  and  Oluwatoyosi Adegunle  Thank you for showing interest in knowing about love. Sincerely glad you're here! In the past weeks, we've been exposing you to different aspects of love, because the love of God is wide, deep, interesting and strong that you can't entirely understand it in a day, week or month, but by constantly learning from God, the scriptures, and great channels like this.  We covered many aspects of love for believers of Jesus Christ. We started with  Love is nature, not a feeling or a decision  to show that feelings are fickle and our minds can change. Then we talked about Is God's love truly enough which broke down a lot of misconceptions about God's love towards the world, then last week we discussed t he opposite of Love is fear, not hate  to show us that hatred is a fruit of fear. 1 Peter 4:8 (AMPC)  Above all things have intense and unfailing love...

The opposite of Love is fear, not hate

The opposite of Love is fear, not hate By Oluwatoyosi Adegunle  Edited by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun  Can we ever truly understand how love really works? I mean, it is so huge, deep and wide, you have to rely on God to fully understand it and be able to live it. The beauty of having a relationship with God is that you learn every day and you’re able to have a full-on conversation with God about anything. An exciting journey, if you ask me!  As big as love is, there’s only one side to its perfection, God! God is love and with love, he births all the beautiful things you see, with love, he created you, your colleague, your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend, your boss, your friends, your parents, your classmate and every single person you know on earth. Love is the foundation of our salvation, what else could make a man die for you? Nothing but love!  It is a sweet experience to be able to love Jesus and his people. Romans 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates his own...

Is God's love truly enough?

Is God's love truly enough? by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun It's the month of love and I'll like to talk to you about love. If you follow me on social media, you'd know that I'm a big advocate of showing love to people even when they are undeserving because we've been enabled as believers. This may be helpful fo whatever situation you're in or just serve as an encouragement in your daily struggles. I pray that you continue to yield to the Holy Spirit. The greatest show of love ever recorded in the world is the crucifixion of Jesus. I know it isn't an easter period where everyone chooses to deliver a powerful message about the cross. However, I just want to talk to you about God's love toward you and how it can impact everything that concerns you. Here are some of my thoughts on the love to God to the believer, the unbeliever and pretty much anybody curious about God's love.  Being bad is the qualification for God's love Romans 5:...

Love is not a Feeling, Love is not a Choice, Love is our nature as believers

Love is not a feeling, Love is not a Choice, Love is our nature as believers By Oluwatoyosi Adegunle  Edited by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun  I recently had a conversation with an older friend talking about how love is not enough to make any relationship work. He walked me through the scriptures and days of the old experiences where our mothers and fathers have shown us that love is their very nature, and there is no other way to build any relationship in life but to love. I asked him “what about commitment, understanding, trust? Shouldn’t I have all of these alongside love to make a relationship work?” and he said, “if you truly love them, with the love of God, then, it is enough to make it work”. Life experiences, human relations, books, personal upbringing and movies have truly influenced our perspective of love and subconsciously taught us how to love, when to love, and who to love based on false judgments. The devil never gets tired of bringing up false ways a...
